Dad Burruss started his DeMolay career on May 6, 1956, when he was initiated into Lynchburg Chapter. Over the next 65 years he excelled as a member and as an advisor. He was a mentor and role model to virtually hundreds of young men and advisors not only in Virginia but also throughout the country. Larry was known throughout the country due to his work as an Active Member of the International Supreme Council. His service included serving as the DeMolay Congress Advisor in 1998 and 1999, and as Vice President of the DeMolay International Foundation. In 2006 Virginia DeMolay established the “Virginia DeMolay Lifetime Achievement Award” and named it in honor of Dad Burruss. He passed away on October 28, 2021.
