1997 Spring Quarterly Meeting and Grand Master’s Class
The Virginia State Association, Order of DeMolay will hold this year’s spring quarterly meeting and Grand Master’s Class in Luray, Va. on Saturday, June 7, 1997. Activities will include Ritual Competitions, Initiatory Degree, a State Meeting, Dinner with the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, and an exemplification of the DeMolay Degree in the Caverns. The schedule for the day is as follows:
8:30 a.m. -- Competitions for Ceremony of Light, Flower Talk, and Shield Talk
12:30 p.m. -- New Candidate introduction video
1:00 p.m. -- Opening Ritual and Initiatory Degree, followed by Flower Talk
2:00 p.m. -- Business Meeting
5:00 p.m. -- Dinner with the Grand Master (Luray Caverns Restaurant)
7:30 p.m. -- DeMolay Degree (Luray Caverns)
State Competitions for Ceremony of Light, Flower Talk, and Shield Talk will be held in the morning. Each region is allowed one competitor in each competition. RMCs should forward the names of their region’s competitors to Bro. Andrew McDaniel no later than May 24, 1997. Late entry’s may not be able to compete. Winners will be announced at the meeting, but trophies will not be presented until Conclave.
One of the special events this year will be the opportunity to have dinner with the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia. Dinner will be held at the Luray Caverns Restaurant and because seating is limited, registration will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost for dinner will be $10.00 a person, and money must be received by May 15, 1997, and there will be no refunds for those who register but do not attend. The menu for dinner is as follows: Ham, Macaroni and Cheese, Green Beans, Rolls, Dessert, and Soft Drink (soda, iced tea, or coffee).
If you will not be eating dinner with the Grand Master, it is still required that you inform the State Association of how many Advisors, DeMolays, and Candidates you will be bringing by May 24, 1997.
