Summer Wind-down

As the summer is coming to a close, I think it is important to reflect on the great things that happened this past month!

There were two, very unique installations held. The first being Portsmouth Chapter's. They had it special themed and everyone wore Hawaiian shirts. I will have to say, Dad Young's shirt was probably the best! Other State officers present were Noah Pendleton, Heath Robinson, Quentin Hoglund, and Jared Jackson. In addition to their brotherhood, Portsmouth always has great food which is offered by the endless support from their advisors and other adult supporters.

Roanoke Chapter also held their Installation of Officers and it was one like no other. At Roanoke's annual Camp Bandana, the incoming Master Councilor had requested to be installed at the Campsite. Without hesitation, the chapter accommodated for his request and they made it happen! The ceremony took place on the banks of Craig's Creek, which is in the mountains of Botetourt County!

While attending installations, I had the honor of also visiting some chapter's meetings. It was a pleasure to be at Woodlawn's meeting on August 19th. I enjoyed being able to watch as they conducted their business and performed their ritual exceptionally well. I was also joined by members from Tidewater Chapter. On August 22nd I was excited to visit Prince William Chapter. It was great to see members from Ashburn and Herndon chapters attend and help with the opening of their chapter. During business, they held their election of officers and it was great to be a witness to that. I am excited for September and all of the excitement it brings with it!
